The Situational Library Project came from my Contemporary Arts and Ideas class taught by Amy Franceschini at Mills College. This class is "concept-driven." This class challenged me to become a fearless creator "open to a multitude of possible modes of creation; walking, urban interventions, cooking, temporary sculpture and animation." We explored different types of art creations, and I gravitated towards the Situational Library Project the most. For this project we were required to create a library to be installed in a public area for a certain amount of time. The guidelines were broad, and not too specific, which allowed room for creativity and experimentation.
